Maurisse Johnson

Maurisse Johnson (Kaz) is the CFO and Senior Vice President of Operations at the Center for Policing Equity (CPE). In this role, he leads the Finance and Administration vertical, driving the internal financial strategy and planning. In this dual role, his leadership extends as he guides the Program Management Office, Talent and Culture, and Administration sub-verticals, contributing to the holistic success of reducing harm in existing public safety systems.

With a career marked by transformative financial leadership, Maurisse brings a wealth of experience and an unwavering passion for social justice to CPE. Before joining CPE, Maurisse was the Chief Financial Officer, and Board Member at the Solutions Journalism Network. Going back further he has led several organizations in financial management, systems implementation, and performance management across several industries and companies.

Maurisse is a board member of several nonprofit organizations including Solutions Journalism Network, Capital B, and Big Brothers Big Sisters. He holds a BBA and MBA from Concordia and is a graduate of Columbia University’s CFO program. Maurisse is from NYC and currently lives in White Plains, NY.
