History of the Justice Navigator

Developed in collaboration with a team of Google.org engineers, the Justice Navigator presents analyses of data from CPE’s National Justice Database (NJD) project, the nation’s first database tracking national statistics on police behavior. At CPE, we see an urgent and immediate need to alleviate, through data-driven interventions, the damage that racist policing causes to Black, Native, and other traditionally marginalized communities. The Justice Navigator is a user-friendly tool that enables police departments to make their data analyses transparent and helps communities hold their law enforcement agencies accountable.
