Peter Honnef

Peter Honnef is a Policy Associate with the Compstat for Justice (C4J) team at the Center for Policing Equity (CPE). Peter joined CPE in January 2021, bringing years of experience in legal advocacy, policy reform, and data analysis. Most recently, Peter worked as an attorney representing incarcerated people in North Carolina who were wrongly convicted or over-sentenced. Prior to becoming an attorney, Peter was a quantitative analyst conducting research and evaluation of social service programs. Peter has been involved with criminal justice reform efforts in Maryland, North Carolina, and in other states across the nation. He has conducted research and advocated for changes related to policing, sentencing, conditions of confinement, and the collateral consequences of convictions. 

Peter has a JD from the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, and he received his BA and MPH from Tufts University.
